Will Keith Kellogg was an American industrialist in food manufacturing; know for the foundation of the Kellogg Company, which is the popular breakfast that many people enjoy today. He was born in April 7, 1860 and died in October 6, 1951 at the age of 91.He went to school and studied until 6th grade. He started selling brooms as a young businessman. Then, he moved to Battle Creek Michigan to help his brother John Harvey Kellogg with the Battle Creek Sanitarium. His brother was a bookkeeper, business manager and jack-of-all-trades, the sanitarium was one of the nation’s leading health spas. It was in 1894; Will was working on the

San’s kitchen trying to find a digestible substitute for bread. The next day he realized that the day before he had let a batch of boiled wheat which surprisingly became flakes. Will wanted to keep it a secret, but John allowed anyone in the sanitarium to observe the process of the flakes and one guest C.W Post copied the process and fund his own cereal company using their products. So upset was Will that he left the company and created his own. With the help of his brother Will promoted Kellogg cereals as a healthy breakfast. Started the Sanitas Food Company around 1987, they sell eggs and meat for the wealthy and the poor ate porridge, farina, gruel, then they argued about the amount of sugar so Will ended funding the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company, which became later the Kellogg Company. In 1906, Kellogg funded the Kellogg Company. However the exit had problems. In June 4, 1907 the first Kellogg plan was put on fire, when it was still on fire Will called an architect, so he could design a new plant that was fireproof. Will workedvery hard to become one of the richest men. But his puritan conscience made him feel guilty living such a nice life. He decided to do something worthy with his money, something that was going to benefit humanity. In 1930, he funded the W.K Kellogg foundation Company donating 66 million to for the funding of the company which was most of his fortune.

During the great depression Will opened his cereal company and worked three shifts, each lasting 6 hours, which let more people have a job in those difficult times. His company was also one of the first to put food label on food. W.K died in 1951, at the age of 91. In his last 10 years he was practically blind. However, until his last of life he was always interesting and very informed in the Kellogg foundation company. One of his goals, of giving all his fortune earn with his hard work to serve humanity for many generations, gave his soul harmony and happiness until his death.
