Karnataka Rakshana Vedike to train rural students To create ready to recruit candidates for IT sector Srinivas R Wednesday, May 07, 2008 BANGALORE, INDIA: Pro-Kannada organisation Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) would provide training to rural engineering students in Karnataka. The training would be in soft skills and English, with an aim to create talent suitable for employment in the IT/ITeS sector. The programme for students in tier-two and -three cities would commence in June 2008, a spokesperson of the outfit today said. "We cannot expect employment from government departments. Now the future generations have to depend on the private sector. We would like to bridge the gap between rural and urban students by providing ready-to-recruit manpower to IT, one of the biggest private sectors in the state," said Saneerappa. KRV accused IT firms of ignoring rural engineering colleges during campus recruitment drives. "They say the students there (in rural areas) are not suitable for the IT industry," he added. Saneerappa said the KRV is pro-globalisation and hence the decision to impart training to rural students. KRV was demanding more employment to Kannadigas in IT companies in the state. It recently attacked an IT firm when one of its employees allegedly insulted Kannadigas. ©CyberMedia News
