Day 1: Today you shall depart from Johannesburg International Airport to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, our representative will meet you and transfer you to Karafuu Hotel Beach Resort, where you will spend 7 nights in the opulence and comfort of this spectacular resort on a fully inclusive basis. Karafuu is named after the Swahili word for cloves, which are grown in abundance on the island. This elegant, luxurious beach resort is situated on a delightful stretch of palm-fringed coastline with dazzling sapphire water. Karafuu has been beautifully laid out and the view from the main terrace and swimming pool is absolutely magnificent. A few steps away are the beach with a row of sun beds set well apart from each other. Warm hospitality comes naturally to the Swahili staff, who are impeccably dressed in Arabic uniforms. You’ll find all the facilities - dive and water sports centre, disco, tennis courts and a choice of five restaurants.

This is included in the 1Time airline ticket but you are advised to have USD$30 with you for unpredicted changes by the Tanzania Government. If charged on departure this will be refunded to you on presenting the proof of payment (Normally this is in the form of a receipt or stamp, so hold on to it!). Price excludes: • Visas ($50) • Inoculations (Yellow Fever is compulsory) Health requirements: • You have to have a Yellow Fever inoculation and a certificate to get into the country. These can be obtained from any travel clinic close to you (most Netcare hospitals have clinics, phone and enquire beforehand). The inoculation must be obtained at least 10 days prior to departure • Malaria medication is recommended

International clients outside of South Africa will need to contact the Tanzanian Consulate or ask one of our consultants for more information. Visas for South African passport holders can be obtained: Upon arrival in Tanzania: This will cost you $50 and you only need to present your passport. You will not need to complete any forms or take any photographs. From African Encounters: This will cost you $50 plus and additional R160 admin fee per application. We will require you to complete the visa application forms and supply us with two passport size photos per applicant. Direct: Directly from the Tanzanian embassy at 822 George Avenue, Arcadia, Pretoria, Tel: (012) 3424393. We recommend that you obtain them when arriving in Tanzania, as this will save you time and money. *Travel Insurance: It is compulsory for all African Encounters clients to have comprehensive travel insurance.
