Gray Stone Day School Junior Varsity Volleyball 2009

An Uncertain Beginning With the varsity team only having 3 returning players, many junior varsity players were pulled in order to fill the missing spots. This left the Junior Varsity with three returning players. Nine new players (eight freshman), were added to the Junior Varsity Team. The season started off with a match against Covenant Classical. With this being the first game, no one knew how the new JV team would play. Nerves got the best of the team, and they suffered a loss for their first game. For the remainder of the season, the girls on the team worked hard to play the best they could. Two new JV players were promoted to the varsity team. At the end of the season, the team and coaches were proud of what they had accomplished this volleyball season.

Team

Coaches Mr. and Mrs. Efird are the coaches of both volleyball teams. Although Mrs. Efird is the one who teaches at Gray Stone, the team needs Mr. Efird just as much. With their daughter, Lea, on the team, their whole family is involved with Gray Stone volleyball.
