Children who are lonely, underprivileged and caught in a web of poverty and despair and to no fault of their own. Delaney Holley is collecting 2000 Teddy Bears (any gently used stuffed animals) and $4000.00 required to transport them to Uganda. We owe a great deal of thanks to Harvey McLaughlin and his team, Pat Claman from Pembroke, and of course you, the parishioners, who worked so diligently to distribute, buy and sell the tickets. Special thanks to all the volunteers who assisted in many different capacities. You know who you are and we want you to know that your involvement was sincerely appreciated. Your willingness to assist made this project so easy for us, the convenors, and greatly contributed to the success the lottery turned out to be. It is to make legal Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide in Canada. Considering the present makeup of the government, it will be a very close vote at the second reading which will likely occur before Parliament’s recess on June 23.
