Chemistry @ Hamilton!
C
hemistry is a great way to learn all about the world around us and how it works on a microscale level. My name is Valerie Nichols and I teach chemistry here at Hamilton High school. I got my bachelors degree in chemistry and my teaching credential at Cal State San Marcos in 2009 and would love to return to school sometime in the future to work on my continuing my education. Science and math have been lifelong passions for me and I hope that I can pass along some of the excitement to you, the students, here at Hamilton.
Technology & The Little Stuff
W
e will be incorporating technology into our classroom learning at every chance. Not only is technology great to learn with but it is an endless resource. We will be making powerpoint presentations for a project on the chemistry topic of your choice, use VMD to visualize and investigate proteins and how they work, and also use molecule drawing programs to help digitally construct molecules and learn more about their properties.
