ACHIEVEMENTS
During University I dedicated a lot of my time to others. I took up the position of a student mentor for the second and third year. This involved working closely with a team of mentors to ensure that the new intake settled into the university way of life. The responsibilities included offering advice, arranging group sessions to give the new intake an opportunity to meet new people and finally being available to listen. Additionally, I was the head coach of the University inline hockey cub. Leading the team was an exciting experience and involved taking training sessions both on and off rink. As the coach I was the main point of contact for the entire team and was able to help players develop both their skills and their confidence. Before university I owned and managed an events company in Milton Keynes. The events that we held were aimed at people aged between the ages of fourteen and twenty one, with the goal of offering the local teenagers a cheaper, safer and more enjoyable alternative live music event. The experience was hugely rewarding. It involved both managing a team and also coordinating all aspects of the event from liaising with designers, printers, sound engineers as well as working closely with venue staff. The role demanded the best from myself and took advantage of my ability to manage a project from conception all the way through to delivery.
