Researched and created of new market strategy to develop clients in the commercial and mixed‐use real  estate development industry. Established a robust national prospect database of over 20 qualified developer  prospects and numerous market influencers including brokers, lenders, public officials, data sources,  professional organizations and academic researchers.  Identified and secured interviews and RFPs from five developer prospects for architectural design projects  encompassing over 100 acres and 500,000 sf of commercial real estate in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus.   

Butler County Transportation Improvement District – (2004 to 2007)  Executive Director  ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Provided executive and technical leadership for a special‐purpose unit of local government whose mission is to  develop transportation infrastructure to promote economic development in the community.    Managed two independent boards of directors, staff and an annual operating budget of $650 thousand.  Responsible for the planning and execution of several multi‐year design and construction projects with a total  value of over $75 million.  Negotiated contracts and agreements with other government units, utilities and  private companies, real estate and right of way purchases and led public debt issuance of over $40 million.  Secured over $8 million of funding from the State of Ohio, OKI and Duke Energy for highway and rail projects.  Served as Secretary of the Butler County Port Authority and managed its operations.  Led the start‐up of the  organization beginning in September 2004, managed the creation of the organization’s by‐laws and strategic  plan, raised initial operating capital and developed an active pipeline of projects valued at over $100 million.  Negotiated rail siding agreement with CSX to retain three industrial businesses in Butler County. 

Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce – (1998 to 2004)  Director, Technology Adoption, CincyTechUSA (2002 to 2004)  ♦

Led CincyTechUSA involvement in the Wright Center for Advanced Data Management & Analysis, a research  and commercialization center in Dayton, OH by an $11 million grant from the Ohio Third Frontier Program.  Recruited private sector partners to provided over $8 million of required matching funds to the project.  ♦ Created regional on‐line business survey to determine the state of technology adoption in the Cincinnati  region. Coordinated and led volunteer committee to analyze data and prepare the Keeping Pace 2002 and  2003 reports which provide unique regional market data regarding the IT priorities of local companies.  Presented the findings at a national conference of economic development researchers in 2003.  ♦ Represented the chamber in the Ohio Valley Affiliates for Life Sciences (OVALS), a collaborative effort between  the University of Cincinnati, Wright State University, the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville  and regional economic development organizations to promote research collaboration, venture capital  attraction and investment and technology transfer in the region.

Provided site selection and real estate development consulting services.   Completed site selection projects and developed site acquisition strategies for clients including successful  projects in Pittsburgh and Toronto for Cintas Corporation and in Cincinnati for Castellini Corporation.

Responsible for all state and local government relationships in Ohio and Kentucky for zoning, infrastructure,  and economic development issues relating to commercial real estate development.   Created several major Tax Increment Financing (TIF) projects for infrastructure development for Duke Realty  projects creating bottom‐line infrastructure cost offsets of over $4 million to development projects.  Coordinated state and local tax incentive negotiations for several corporate relocations including projects for  Procter & Gamble, Harris Corporation, Anthem Insurance, and Totes, Inc.  Managed environmental and site design consultants and secured local government entitlements for real  estate projects encompassing over 3,000 acres and 1.5 million square feet of office, industrial and retail  development.

Provided technical assistance to local communities in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana regarding land  development, zoning, and transportation planning issues.
