Johannes Gutenberg
Johann Gutenberg nacque a Magonza, 1394-1399 circa e morì sempre a Magonza il 3 febbraio 1468. E’ stato un inventore, tipografo ed orafo tedesco inventore della stampa a caratteri mobili in Europa. Realizzò la Bibbia a Magonza nel 1456 su pagine di due colonne a 42 righe. Fu il punto di arrivo di sperimentazioni compiute in diverse città europee. Il lavoro venne concluso il 23 febbraio 1455 presso la “Hof zum Humbrecht” e il libro messo in vendita a Francoforte. L’edizione suscitò immediato entusiasmo per la qualità tipografica.
