OFFICE OF ECONOMIC STIMULUS 107 North Main Street, State House· Rm 208 Concord, New Hampshire 03301

His Excellency Governor John H. Lynch And the Honorable Executive Council American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Progress Report - August 19,2009 Job CreationlRetention:

796.2 FTEs

Through June 30, 2009, we estimate that 796.2 Full Time Equivalent ("FTE") jobs have been created or retained which were paid for with ARRA funds. This statistic is calculated as directed by the federal Office of Management and Budget ("OMB") for federal ARRA reporting purposes. For each program, the total number of hours paid for with ARRA funds is divided into the total number of hours a full time employee would work during the reporting period. For this report, the reporting period started on the fIrst day of the month during which the program started compensating employees with ARRA funds and ended on June 30, 2009. During this reporting period a total of 535,498.9 hours were reported to the Office of Economic Stimulus as having been paid for with ARRA funds. ARRA Contracts/Grants Approved:

$250,079,379.91

Through July 28th, 2009, the Governor and Executive Council have approved $250,079,379.91 of ARRA funded contracts or grants. Additional funds have been obligated to the State, but not yet contracted. Federal agencies have awarded additional ARRA funds in direct awards to municipalities, educational institutions, and entities in New Hampshire. The town by town analysis that is attached, which includes the amounts awarded by State contracts and the direct federal awards we have information on, total to an estimated ARRA benefIt to New Hampshire of $336,327,525. As of 7/29/09 an additional $13,943,728 has been received by unemployed people in New Hampshire by means of an additional $25 per week benefIts paid for with ARRA funds. Please fInd attached samples of the web based maps and related town by town detailed information under development. We are also providing a list ofthe projects identifIed to date which are benefIting, in whole or in part, specifIc towns. We continue to collect data and will provide a more complete report in September. We expect these statistics to change over time. We have requested State ARRA program managers to report on activity through August 31 st, by September 10,2009. We will plan to update the Governor and Executive Council at your September 23 rd meeting.
