PRA Commends Presidential Candidate Jim Gilmore for National Property Rights Initiative WASHINGTON — Acting Property Rights Alliance (PRA) executive director Christopher Butler commends Governor Jim Gilmore for “injecting” property rights into the Presidential campaign. “The Congress has done the American people a disservice by not passing legislation, which is critical to limiting eminent domain abuse at the local and state level that have haunted property owners for so long,” stated Butler. “This issue is very important in a Presidential campaign and Gilmore’s efforts should be commended for standing up for something that all property owners can rally behind. All Presidential candidates should focus on this important issue as a key component of their campaign.” “Our most precious and fundamental liberties are in danger” says Gilmore’s webpage (http://www.gilmoreforpresident.com/mygilmoresite/Property%20Rights), which is solely dedicated to his National Property Rights Initiative. As President, according to Gilmore’s site, he plans to reissue Reagan’s Executive Order protecting private property, require agencies to report on the “state of property rights in America” and appoint a Presidential Commission on Property Rights. Butler adds, “Such efforts are critical in moving protection of private property in the right direction.” PRA Website: www.propertyrightsalliance.org
