Jillian Myers Project 7 Site 1: Two Minute Warning I gave Two Minute Warning a rating of 63/100. This site lost points because it did not provide information about the creator of the site or bibliographic references. The site is very user friendly and student oriented. The content of the site will assist students in learning their times tables. The design of the site is inviting and looks like a game. Students will enjoy using this site because it is designed as a game. The navigation of the site is in working order. There is not a site map but there is a link to search the site. I recommend this site for learning times tables. It is not a very reputable site but to only use it for the game would be okay. I would use this site even though it does not have information about the creator. This site will quiz students and make memorizing the tables a fun game. Site 2: Discovery Education Puzzlemaker The site Discovery Education Puzzlemaker appears to be a very reputable website. The site is affiliated with Discovery Education and allows students or teachers to create puzzles like word searches to assist in learning. I rated this site a 94/100. This rating is considered an excellent rating. The content of the site can be created to fit any subject being taught. The design of the site is easy to use and but not very colorfully inviting. The navigation of the site is easy to use. I would defiantly recommend this site to any teacher. I will be using this site to create fun learning material for my students. The puzzles that I will create from this site will reinforce what I have taught in the classroom. Site 3: National Geographic Kids This site is a very reputable site. It also has the potential to provide information on various subjects. A teacher can use this site for more than one activity. I rated this site a 95/100. The content of the site has several possibilities. Information on the creator and a way to contact the National Geographic association are provided on the website. The design and navigation of the site are easy and appealing. I recommend the use of this site for any activity. Chances are that this site will have a video or some form of information on most subjects covered in Elementary school. Site 4: Enthusiastic About Edison I gave Enthusiastic About Edison a rating of 94/100. This site is a webquest. The content on this site is extensive and creates an opportunity for students to learn about inventing. The content may be reliable but wikipedia is used so some information my not be credible. The design is appealing to the user and the navigation is very easy to figure out. I would recommend this webquest for upper elementary school teachers. The site would be too hard for any grade under third. I would use this webquest because I think that it would create a situation for my students to beginning thinking of their own inventions.
