Rudolph Berwin and his three brothers are store owners in Berlin. They had all fought for Germany in World War I and, after the war, built successful lives for their families. On November 9, all that was taken away. Their veterans’ pensions. Their businesses. And eventually, their lives. Today, Rudolph’s grandson, Glenn, fights for justice. And Dan Halloran is fighting alongside him.

PAID FOR BY COMMITTEE TO ELECT DAN HALLORAN FOR CITY COUNCIL.

That night 99 Jews were murdered. 30,000 were arrested and sent to concentration camps. That night 267 synagogues were destroyed. Thousands of homes and businesses were ransacked. That night changed my family forever. Despite their service in World War I, my grandfather, Rudolph Berwin, and his brothers had their businesses taken, their military pensions stolen and their families sent to concentration camps. As a boy, my father, Kurt, was fortunate enough to make it out of Germany after serving two months in Dachau. My grandfather survived three years in Thereisensadt. The rest of the family was not as fortunate. All three of his brothers, their wives and their children were killed in the camps. When I decided to take up my family’s fight for reparations, I didn’t know how to begin or where to turn. And then I thought of my friend Dan Halloran. For three years, Dan has been taking my cause to the Claims Resolution Tribunal in Switzerland. Dan has made my family’s fight for justice—his fight. And Dan’s efforts will help other families in the future with their fight. So if you are looking for someone you can trust to fight for you on City Council— look no further than Dan Halloran. You can trust him to make your fight his, too.”
