New Jersey Institute for Social Justice is a Newark-based urban research and advocacy organization dedicated to the advancement of New Jersey's urban areas and residents . The New Jersey Institute advances its non-partisan agenda through policy-related research and analysis, development and implementation of model programs, advocacy efforts (including litigation when appropriate) and sustained public education. This grant provides funding for the support of an agenda developed by the New Jersey Reentry Roundtable to improve the state's approach to prisoner reentry, implementing a multi-faceted policy advocacy strategy and developing a community-based response to prisoner reentry in the Newark area . Its support will be used for salaries of professional staff and in-house and commissioned research . Altus Global Alliance is a collaboration of six organizations working across five continents to improve public safety and justice through empirical research and practical reform . Through their alliance, the Altus members will assist non-governmental organizations and governments throughout the world to work effectively on the improvement of the administration of justice . At the same time, through its secretariat in The Hague, Altus will work with the International Criminal Court to strengthen the domestic justice systems of countries from which it receives referrals . This grant provides funding for salaries and benefits for Altus' staff and consultants .
