Communications Capacity Building Initiative

The Prison Moratorium Project is a multiracial; youth led grass roots organization dedicated to halting prison expansion, empowering youth and other constituencies affected by mass incarceration, and advocating for fairer criminal justice policies . Reporting Information:

The Foundation made a grant to the Prison Moratorium Project following a pregrant inquiry and pursuant to a written agreement. The total amount of the grant approved was $85,000 and the grant was to be disbursed in two equal payments of $42,500 within the fiscal year. The disbursement of the second payment was subject to the review of a report on the expenses of the first payment. The Foundation has found Prison Moratorium Project to be out of compliance with the written grant agreement . As a result the final payment on the grant has been suspended and the Foundation has requested that the amounts not spent in accordance with the grant be returned to the Foundation.
