Christmas Is The Time For Giving
JilG Students Ring Bells to Help Those in Need This Christmas Season Friday, December 12th and Satur‐ day, December 13th, Litchfield High School JilG students could be found outside Walmart ringing bells for the Salvation Army. Although both eve‐ nings were extremely windy and very cold, the students showed their com‐ passion for those less fortunate in our community by volunteering their time to raise money for the Salvation Army this Christmas season. “These kids never cease to amaze me,” Ms. Kloss said. “Most showed up at their scheduled time—even though the wind and temperatures were frigid! Not only did they show up, but they arrived with attitudes of support and enthusiasm! Two girls had been sick earlier in the week, but they still were there ringing bells and taking donations for those in need in our community!” May all reflect or be touched by the spirit of giving this holiday season!
Niki Bray, Ms. Kloss, and Holli Taylor ring Salvation Army Bells on Friday evening, December 12th.
Also ringing bells on Friday, December 12th in the cold wind were Nathan Hopkins and Daniel Burdell.

JilG Christmas Party Postponed As A Result of Bad Weather: Pizza Party Moved to the School During Semester Exams Lunch Hour
Stacy Durbin, Joe Vollintine, and Nathan Hopkins choose their pizza during the JilG Christmas luncheon at school on Friday, December 19th. After lunch it was 7th hour exams!

Despite the change in Christmas party plans, the students were good sports and still enjoyed the time to get together. Litchfield High School’s JilG Christmas party had been scheduled for Wednesday, December 17th at Pizza Man in Litchfield. The plan was to meet, eat pizza, exchange Secret Santa gifts, and enjoy being together. However, ice and bad weather forced the school district to cancel classes Wednesday. As a result, the party was cancelled. Because of booked schedules and holiday travel plans, the students decided to have their party during lunch hour the last day of semester exams on Friday, December 19th. Although not the original plans, the students still had a good time!
Alex Joyce and Alex Waldrup listen to their i‐pods, while Jeff Sperry and Zach Elliott are possibly discussing how semester exams are go‐ ing so far.
Aaron Davis Visits JilG Class‐ rooms While He Is Home from Air Force Duties Over Christmas
Aaron Davis shares a laugh with his brother, Anthony Davis, during the 3rd hour Jobs for Illinois Graduates class on Tuesday, December 16th. Aaron is home from the Air Force during the holiday season to spend time with family and friends before he heads on to Florida for more specialized training with his unit.
Aaron Davis had the attention of Ms. Kloss’s students both 3rd and 4th hours as he told interesting sto‐ ries of his training and experiences with the United States Air Force.
If the family resemblance was not so apparent, it would be difficult to know that Aaron and Anthony Davis are broth‐ ers. There is no sign of sibling rivalry or jealousy between these two brothers; however, it is apparent that these two care for and admire one another. In fact, Anthony will be following in Aaron’s “bootsteps” after Anthony graduates from LHS in May. He has already signed up for the Air Force and will be leaving for boot camp in July 2009. Anthony will have “big boots” to fill as Aaron has really made his mark with the Air Force within his first year of ser‐ vice. Aaron has been taking classes and training for a special forces unit. His class started out with 300 members. At the end, Aaron was one of the 12 who graduated. He proudly showed the classes the red beret which he earned this past year. To Aaron and all of the men and women in our armed services who are keeping us safe and free, we would like to say “Thank you for all that you do! May you be granted peace, safety, happiness, and success in the coming new year!
