For your careful consideration, I am writing to express my enthusiasm for entry-level employment as a Scientific Research Assistant. In addition to the technical experience I offer in my resume, I believe I can help your company because of my commitment to excellence. I offer your company excellent communication, interpersonal, computer, and critical thinking skills. Being a member of nine different research projects has given me knowledge and confidence that is superior when compared to my counterparts. I have demonstrated an ability to reach stated goals in fields as diverse as Mars mission design, satellite design, biophysics, planetary physics, computer science, and theoretical and observational astronomy, and I believe I can do the same for you. What has made me successful in so many different fields has been an eagerness to learn new skills. I believe that I can be a valued employee because I place a very high priority on teamwork. Working on nine projects taught me how extremely important it is to approach different types of personalities with an enthusiastic team mentality. Also, for the past three-and-a-half years, I have been a member of a national non-profit professional development company that teaches through professional coaches, goal setting, reading, and time, money, and personal management. The teachings of Stephen Covey, Dr. John C. Maxwell, and Dale Carnegie have given me valuable perspectives on success, personally and professionally. Finally, I pride myself in written and verbal communication. My experience in the biophysics field taught me not only how to work in unfamiliar environments, but also the critical two-way communication with my research advisor that was vital to exploring an extremely open-ended project. I have written and presented multiple in-depth technical reports to satisfy my internship, research, and scholarship responsibilities.
