Philosophy of Ministry We invite guests to the foyer, develop friendships in the living room, and grow as a family around the kitchen table. - Andy Stanley The Foyer – (Guest) It’s the place in your home that serves as the welcome area for guests and new friends. It’s the first step, and it’s often your only chance to make guests feel comfortable enough to return. Sunday morning worship service is a “foyer” environment. I want our guests to come back, so I do everything with them in mind. This environment is where most people will experience the church for the first time, and it serves as the perfect place to introduce newcomers to the life of the church. The Living Room – (Friends) Once your guests arrive and are welcomed into your home, you invite them into the living room. Everyone finds a comfortable place to sit, and the interaction begins. This is where you connect with people. Smaller and more interactive that the foyer environment, this is a real-life, genuine opportunity to begin friendships … just like you would in your home. The Kitchen – (Family) What’s the most popular room in your house? Where do you end up when friends and family come over? That’s right, the kitchen. And that’s the kind of environment I strive for in small groups.

What do I believe about …

incapable of regaining relationship with God through their own efforts. … salvation I believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sins. … the Christian life I believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. … the church I believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world.

7 core values Biblical Authority: God has spoken to us through the Bible and I recognize it as the final authority for our lives. Intimacy with God: God desires an intimate relationship with each of us. Relevant Environments: Every environment should be designed to effectively connect with its target audience. Relational Evangelism: God’s message of forgiveness through Christ is most effectively conveyed within the context of personal relationships.

… scripture The entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, I believe the Bible is without error.

Authentic Community: Accountability, belonging, care, and spiritual growth happen best with relationally-connected believers.

… God I believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.

Strategic Service: Our spiritual gifts have maximum impact when exercised in support of our strategy.

… humanity I believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are

Intentional Apprenticing: We are responsible to pass along to others the knowledge, skills, and opportunities that have been entrusted to us.
