for 140 years Founded by Jamsetji Tata in year 1868 In 2009 annual survey by the Reputation Institute ranked Tata Group as the 11th most reputable company in the world The Tata Group has operations in more than 85 countries across six continents and comprises 114 companies

Tata companies operate in seven business sectors:

communications and information technology, engineering, materials, services, energy, consumer products and chemicals The total revenue of Tata companies, taken together, was $70.8 billion in 2008-09 Employ around 357,000 people worldwide The major Tata companies are Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Tea, Indian Hotels and Tata Communications

TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICE LTD.(TCS) formed in

1968 and today is Asia's largest software company with 2008-09 revenues being over US$ 6 billion. TATA Communications formerly VSNL, the Indian telecom giant. VSNL acquired Teleglobe in 2005 Tata Teleservices Incorporated in 1996 was the first to launch CDMA mobile services in India with the Andhra Pradesh circle.

The company offers services under the brand

name ‘Tata Indicom’ in eighteen key Indian circles Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan ,Maharashtra, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu and Chennai etc. Having pioneered the CDMA 3G1x technology platform in India It has partnered with Motorola, Ericsson, Lucent and ECI Telecom for the deployment of a reliable, technologically advanced network.

Basically a telecommunication system exists

basic telephony , telegraphy ,Fax , Pager ,Mobile phones , internet etc. Mobile phone system can be GSM( Global system for mobile communication) TDMA or CDMA (Code division multiple access) Broadband internet and Satellite communications is fastest means of communication which can transmit large amount of information or data over a long distance.

1Genration :- Voice only services 2 and 2.5 Generation:- Voice and low to

medium speed data services 3Genration:-Voice and multimedia, high speed

data services. 4Genration:-Voice and modern features like

Wi-fi and Wi – max.

 Mobile Station (MS)

Mobile Equipment (ME) Subscriber/user Identity Module (SIM/UIM)  Base Station Subsystem (BSS)

Base Transceiver Station (BTS) Base Station Controller (BSC)  Network Switching Subsystem(NSS)

Mobile Switching Center (MSC) Home Location Register (HLR) Visitor Location Register (VLR) Authentication Center (AUC) Equipment Identity Register (EIR)

The Mobile Station is made up of two entities: 1.

Mobile Equipment (ME)

2. Subscriber/user Identity Module (SIM/UIM)

Base Station Subsystem is composed of two parts that communicate across the standardized Abis interface allowing operation between components made by different suppliers Base Transceiver Station (BTS) 2. Base Station Controller (BSC) 1.

Mobile Switching Center (MSC)  Heart of the network  Manages communication between CDMA and other networks  Call setup function and basic switching  Call routing  Billing information and collection  Mobility management - Registration - Location Updating - Inter BSS and inter MSC call handoff  MSC does gateway function while its customer roams to other network by using HLR/VLR.

In CDMA Both data and voice are separated

from signals using codes and then transmitted using a wide frequency range. Most preferred technology for the 3G generation. GSM is the most used cell phone technology in the world 2.5 g. Easy to understand and easy to deploy infrastructure.

CDMA is invented by Qualicom in 1990 a spread-spectrum

multiple access technique. With CDMA, unique digital codes, rather than separate RF frequencies or channels are used to differentiate subscribers. There are several types of CDMA but the most commonly used variant for cellular is Direct Sequence CDMA (DS-CDMA). CDMA call is 9600 bits per second (9.6 kbps) In this case, the carrier is quite wide at 1.23 MHz

Mobile Frequency Range : Rx: 869-894;Tx:

824849Mhz Multiple Access Method : CDMA/FDM Duplex Method : FDD Number of Channels :20 (798 users per channel) Channel Spacing : 1250kHz Modulation :QPSK/OQPSK Channel Bit Rate : 1.2288Mb

Increased cellular communications security. Simultaneous conversations. Increased efficiency, meaning that the carrier

can serve more subscribers. Smaller phones. Low power requirements and little cell-to-cell coordination needed by operators. Extended reach - beneficial to rural users situated far from cells.

 INTRODUCTION  The proposed system is the ‘Automation of welcome

mail’. The aim is to make a communication between the employees. The system is well-structured .  One of the most important advantage of the proposed system is that the system is user friendly , which provides user cooked information always ready with him/her with no physical limitation of his/her location.

The proposed system provides the

acknowledgement. This system provides the information in the structured format. Several validation checks have been kept in the system for maintaining information accuracy.

 Black Box Testing

: Tests can be functional

or non-functional .  White Box Testing :  Unit Testing

: programmer tests if individual units of source code are fit for use

 Integration Testing : individual software

modules are combined and tested as a group.

APACHE TOMCAT SERVER: server used is

apache tomcat server .

JSP coding : JSP stands For Java servlet

programming . HTML coding: Coding is done in normal mark

up language that is HTML.

CDMA is based on the spread spectrum

technique which has been used at military field. CDMA cellular system is deemed superior to the FDMA and TDMA cellular systems for the time being. The Project AUTOMATION OF MAILING SYSTEM is completed under given time limits and is serving Tata Indicom , Jaipur .
