I.S.T.E. Students’ Chapter S.R.K.R. Engineering College A.P. – 10 ISTE: ‘Indian Society for Technical Education’ is a national, professional, non-profit society. First started in 1941 as the ‘Association of Principals of Technical Institutions’ (ATPI), it was changed into ISTE in 1968 with a view to expanding its activities to advance the cause of technical education. It now has more than with 45000 members and more than a 100,000 student members. ISTE Students Chapter of SRKREC: ISTE Students’ Chapter of our college was started on 21st August 1995 under the aegis of Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, our ex-principal, with a body of 180 members. Since than, we have grown rapidly and are now a strong body of about 450 members. Dr. D. Ranga Raju, our principal and Prof. P. Subba Rao, ECE dept. are our present Chairman & Faculty Advisor respectively. Our Objectives: • To enhance professional ideals & standards. • To provide a platform of development to students upon which they can enhance 7 hone their skills. • To bring about effective linkage between Technical Institutions, Industry & Society. Our Activities: • In line with our objectives, we undertake various activities such as – • Conducting seminars, workshops, and conferences on topics of relevance to technical education. • Organizing various programs like elocution, extempore, GD, debates, poster and paper presentations, floor crossing etc weekly. (We are planning to bring out a student e-newsletter soon.) Benefits of Membership: • Preference to attend short term training programs for academic excellence and career advancement. • Eligibility to participate in chapter level and national level conferences, workshops and other activities of academic interest. • ISTE membership enhances the self-confidence and self esteem of students. Your involvement in ISTE greatly enhances your personality by helping you improve your soft skills along with your technical skills. You can avail numerous choices and opportunities in this regard. You can draw upon the experience and guidance of your seniors in facing CAT, GATE, GRE, TOEFL and Campus Interviews.
