www.unicom.co.uk/benefits1 Successful Benefits Realisation (SBR) is a proven method of achieving organisational change and transformation. SBR is a complete method and toolkit based on hard experience and common sense. It shows how to understand your current capability and situation and how to actually realise, instead of just defining, the benefits that the organisation is looking for. SBR integrates naturally with other popular methods for project and programme management such as MSP 3 and PRINCE2. Strong and sustained engagement of stakeholders throughout the change process is the central aspect of SBR. The six-stage SBR process can be entered at any stage of a change programme or project. Although the first two stages, ‘set vision and objectives, and agree benefits and changes’, are the optimum entry point, flexible entry points enable the application of SBR to change programmes that are already being deployed. In our ever-changing world, external influences and changing organisational issues can change stakeholder’s views of benefits as a programme of change progresses. SBR is iterative, and facilitates the return to earlier stages to accommodate changing circumstances and the continuous optimisation of your programme portfolio. The SBR approach is also applicable at any level within an organisation; it can be applied at: • Board or Executive Team level to clarify, define and communicate business direction and strategy; • Group or Divisional level to analyse and agree the optimum portfolio of change investments; • Programme level, either within a single division or cross-divisional; • Project level or a single project or for a project within a programme of change. This intensive and interactive workshop provides delegates with practical, easy to apply tools and techniques that will enable the realisation of required benefits from change programmes.
Topics covered include: • We all know why change projects fail – don’t we? • What’s our start position – rose-tinted glasses? • Why Benefits Realisation works – if you know how to do it. • Can I really align my corporate vision, goals and objectives with the benefits I want? - yes you can! Here’s how. • What is a benefits-focussed mindset – and how do I get one? • Understanding why change must be benefits-driven to be really successful. • What are benefits, dis-benefits and changes – what’s the difference? • What and who are stakeholders? – and how to engage them to achieve continuous ownership of benefits. • What are the benefits worth – the real answer is usually nothing – unless you
