Our Mission It is the goal of Library Consultant Services to become one of the leading providers of historical and heritage Information retrieval and document processing services. Dedicated to the preservation of historical archives and historical documentation of Michigan and the United States, we seek to assist companies and organization in their pursuit of serving communities and demographic diversity for the progress of humanity and our national history.

Company Profile As a former librarian with both a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fine Art with a minor in Humanities and a Masters of Science degree in Information Science (Library Science) with a minor in Instructional technology from Wayne State University. In the time of my life, with an extensive background in my field of work, I have acquired on the job experience with online Information research, document processing, desktop publishing talent, and the skill in developing small resource centers. As a technical librarian for Ford Motor Company, hired through Bartech, Inc., a temporary employment agency in Dearborn, Michigan, I was given the responsibility of not only managing the departmental resource center, but I actually designed and created it. I also published a departmental library center newsletter and provided acquisition services for engineers needing special manuals and professional related documents. I served Ford Motor Company's Wheel and Tire Division for two years until they agreed to downsize the engineering staff in which the need for the department resource center was obsolete. The managers of that department in which I am proud, gave me a most favorable recommendation. Before contracting to Ford Motor Company, I was a technical librarian for the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Detroit, hired by a consultant agency, Action Management Corporation, now one of my prospective clients. I learned website designing while servicing them and began my own personal website, My Corner of the World Newsletter, thereafter. I found that I could publish my ideas and writings and expose them to more people than I could any other way. Therefore, I decided that I would take my librarianship in another direction that combined my traditional library skills, artistic creative skills, love of history and research talent into one conglomerate. Because I am comfortable working independently and having the jurisdiction of making my own decision about the operation of my business, I can design your requests without hindrance. I feel that being an entrepreneur suffices my objectives. Researching and locating historical and rare information is one of my strongest attributes in the Information research field. My organizational membership includes the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP). I am a member of Wayne State University's Organization of Black Alumnus and as a former librarian; I was member to the American Library Association (ALA) and Special Library Association (SLA). I am also the author of, “My Corner of the World: A Book of African American Reading Titles Sole proprietorship, Internet based, Minority owned, DBE/WBE certified

Information Retrieval Services My Information Retrieval service is the most resourceful tool for getting the information you want. Historical information can sometimes be very difficult to locate on the internet. Although the search engines are useful, they are not always the best way to gain the information you request. Sometimes you can find everything but exactly what you need. The benefits of having me do the job for you are:

Key Benefits Knowledge in weeding out information from other resources. Information is timelier saving you the client the trouble and inconvenience. Information compiled and formatted to the requirements of your needs.

Capabilities As a former technical librarian with online searching experience, I am able to locate information that has gone out of either print or rare. My resources vary and I am not limited to one way of obtaining the information you want. For example:

Online database searching Using a 900-database system company provides thousands of statistics, reports, articles and abstracts of hidden and hard to get information. Use of other resources such as government databases, other research vendors that provide fast turn-around in delivering the requested information or document.

Keeping clients aware of ongoing information Alerts can be setup to submit automatically to the client's email or address, as it is located. Alerts consist of upcoming events, current articles on subject matter, new discovered information about historical and contemporary news.

Managing and Processing the Information retrieved After the information is retrieved the process of preparing it for distribution and introduction to the targeted audience is begun. This process include, transcribing, updating documents, document prepared for the internet or Intranet, composing the information into presentations and book manuscripts. Archiving to CD and audio files are another special process that is provided. (See Documents)

DOCUMENTS YOU CAN REALLY USE. . . Library Consultant Services provide fast and accurate word-processing services, audio transcribing and phone transcribing service. I use the latest versions of Microsoft Suite, Word, Access, Excel, Front Page and MS Publisher to prepare my documents. Documents may be faxed, emailed or mailed to my attention or audio delivered for transcribing by phone.. If you are within the vicinity, pickup and delivery arranged. I reverence vendors that are of high quality and can produce a finished product that looks both creative and professional. As you are aware, your documents must not only communicate your ideas, but they must look great too.
