The said property is within unceded Algonquin territory, meaning Algonquin title still remains. The property is currently in possession of Paula LaPierre, representative for the Kichesipirini Algonquin First Nation. The Kichesipirini Algonquin First Nation has been seeking proper consultation and compensation with the Federal and Provincial government representatives for their right to inclusion in the ongoing Algonquin land claim and Treaty negotiations.
