Malaysia is a nation which practises racism as a part of everyday life.

If you understand the local language, and

care to listen to the radio and TV broadcasts, and read the printed media, you will be surprised to hear the words "bangsa" and "agama" being used on a very frequent basis. The words mean "race" and "religion" respectively. No other country in the world permits such a situation to be imposed on its population ( with the possible exception of the do-alike nation of Indonesia ). Not only do such undesired words get prominent attention, but their meaning are regularly translated into practice. Government policies and government agencies make sure that racist practices and philosophies are kept alive and used. Such ways and means also serve to routinely keep the populace on edge and thereby preserve the grip on political power. By the way, corruption and violent crime are deeply entrenched problems in the country. Truly surprising for the uninitiated.
