MATUNGA, MUMBAI – 400 019 PUBLIC NOTICE 1. The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) is a public University funded by the various Governmental financial assistance schemes as grants-in-aid, planned and unplanned grants, special assistance programmes of both the Maharashtra State and Government of India. ICT receives through national competition research grants from various Government Agencies such as MHRD, UGC, AICTE, DAE, DST, DBT, ICMR, CSIR and Rajeev Gandhi Commission. 2. There is no capitation fee or donation or hidden fees for taking admission to any of the undergraduate, post-graduate and Ph.D. Courses conducted by the ICT. It has a glorious history of 75 years having established on October 1, 1933 as a Bombay University Department of Chemical Technology, popularly know as UDCT. The UDCT was given partial autonomy in 1985 by the University of Bombay (Mumbai), which was converted into the Institute on January 26, 2002 as the Mumbai University Institute of Chemical Technology (MUICT). It was granted full autonomy under the TEQIP of the World Bank by the Government of Maharashtra in March, 2004. 3. Based on the UGC’s recommendations, the MUICT was converted into the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), as the “Deemed-to-be University” on September 12, 2008. 4. All our courses have been accredited by the NAB, AICTE and NACC, UGC. The ICT’s Chemical Engineering programme has been rated as No. 1 in India, according the survey done by the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA and is No. 1 among all engineering branches in terms of quality of education, research output, industrial interactions and external earnings. 5. The ICT has started admissions to all its programs following the procedures as laid down by the Government. There is no dilution of standard or admission criteria or recruitment. 6. Admissions to the ICT are strictly according to the merit and well defined criteria including Government policies on reservation. 7. A merit list of all candidates is displayed on institute notice boards and also on the web, www.udct.org 8. We have been helping several needy UG students on merit-cum-need basis and almost 95% of our research students receive fellowships. 9. We are No. 1 in the World with regards to number of peer-reviewed papers for faculty and cost of research / faculty. We have also produced maximum number of first generation entrepreneurs, including creators of Fortune 500 companies. 10. There is no private agency or authority appointed by the ICT to offer admissions to any of the courses. If any body claims as our representative in any regard it is utterly false. The members of public are advised to give written complaints to the Director, ICT either by the post or email to [email protected]

11. Public is advised not to intimidate any of the staff of the ICT or bring pressure by using extraneous influences. It is also advised not to pay any money or Bakshish to any staff or attendants to expedite their work in the ICT. It will be strictly dealt with. 12. Our administration is transparent and if any body finds any malpractice-ethical legal or moral please bring it to the attention of the concerned head or Assistant Registrar or Registrar with a C.C. to the Director. 13. It will be our endeavour to impart justice to one and all, irrespective of their social background, financial clout, race, caste, religion or language. 14. It is an appeal to the public to read the instructions very carefully so that no confusion or misunderstanding is created on any issue.
