INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION Presented By NOUREEN AAMNA K070064 – B1(CS)
POLLUTION It contamination of Earth’s environment with materials that interfere with human health, the quality of life, or the natural functioning of ecosystems (living organisms and their physical surroundings).
INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION Industrial pollutants that
run into streams, rivers, or lakes can have serious effects on wildlife, plants, and humans. industrial pollution
accelerated rapidly in the 1800s, with the start of the Industrial Revolution
FORMS OF INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION AIR POLUTION
WATER POLLUTON
SOIL POLLUTION
POLLUTION
SOLID WASTE
NOISE POLLUTION
WATER POLLUTION Sewage, industrial wastes, and agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides are the main causes of water pollution.
SOIL POLLTION Soil pollution is a consist of toxic chemical compounds, salts, pathogens (diseasecausing organisms), or radioactive materials that can affect plant and animal life.
Noise Pollution Unwanted sound, or noise, such as that produced by airplanes, traffic, or industrial machinery, is considered a form of pollution. It can cause hearing loss, stress, high blood pressure, sleep loss, distraction, and lost productivity.
SOLID WASTE Solid wastes are unwanted solid materials such as garbage, paper, plastics and other synthetic materials, metals, and wood.
Effects of industrial pollution on our environment Common chemical pollutants can cause
injury to human health are chlorides, nitrates, heavy metals and organic matters. Industrial discharge can cause ground
water pollution and problems like miscarriage, low birth weight, birth defects and premature infant death and also can cause cancer.
Causes Of Industrial Pollution Unregistered scale of small scale
industries Lack of pollution control system Common treatment facility Lack of awareness
Solution of industrial pollution Establishment of industries in only industrial estates. Environmental auditing Appropriate dumping facilities of garbage and wasted
material. Industries should be to encourage take up proactive role in the protection of actions. Monitoring of water quality of all important water bodies should be carried out. Government should provide incentives to industries for adopting clean technologies. environmental cell of the environment and forest department should be strengthen
