Look-up error A common one is *dictionary used to translate Ll items such as slownik, slovar, in contexts where word list or glossary is appropriate. Some are more 'original', and show learners attempting to be a little ambitious and use words from the dictionary that are novelties: so they try *circumlocution, which stands in the dictionary alongside "./ conversation as a translation of razgovor.
