Conclusion There are a few functions on Quark better than Indesign, for instance, Font “Anastasia” Conversion Issue, EPS preview Support and Less time for Proof reading. There are necessary functions missing on Quark. For instance, XML import support, Print/Preview Colour Support from AI, PSD. Any other functions are not considered as “Very Important Elements” as they are very similar functions. Quark 8 and Quark 7 has much more different. Best part of using Quark 7 is XML import supported for Quark 6 but not supported for Quark 8 Indesign CS3 has an issue of different colours between “drag+drop” and “file import”. And Drag+Drop colours are much closer or exactly the same to the colours we created on Illustrator CS3 files. Recommendation In result, To consider of stability for progress and maximise the security for printing, I would suggest to use Indesign CS3 for our main system, there will be some other exceptions. In printing market, the share of using Indesign is much higher and will be continuing for another few more years. Therefore when we get to the reprinting steps, we could easily edit and reprint again. (Could be CS5 or CS6 but not Q9 or Q10) With issue of colour differences on indesign CS3, I will suggest to decide which colour we will go for and make a system to use this colours as default colours for our company.
