IIT Kharagpur GD The reporting time for IIT Kharagpur GD/PI was 8 o’clock. I reached there at around 8.10. The presentation was going on. There were 4 panels and I was placed in panel 3. First GD took place followed by PI. There were 16 members in panel 3 and all were present. There had to be a discussion of 8-9 min and then summary writing. The moderator (2 in number) gave us all the relevant instructions. We had 8-9 min for GD then 5 min for summary writing. They distributed the caselet. It was about a cosmetic producing company Colgate Palmolive. The company focussed on ready to use product for beauty and skin care. More to it, there were other companies like HUL and NIRMA, which had strong hold on non-macro products like toilet soap etc. We had to discuss two things. 1) Company’s take on the current business process and targeting more cities and another gender. 2) What should company do? Whether it should foray into new non-macro product business or not. I started with the GD. Then, leaving apart some moments when it became messy, things went good. After the start I got one more chance. But when around 5-6 minutes had passed I called the group to jump to the second point, which we were missing till then. Then the group discussed around 2 min. The second point when the signal to stop was given. After that, all the people who could not put their view were given 1 min( This thing was not instructed initially) and I was not in them. Then we were asked to write the summary in bullet points. After that we were instructed to move out and wait for the Interview.
