Ideology: • An ideology offers an interpretation of the past, and the explanation of present and a vision of future. • Ideology is a different form of comprehensive patterns of moral belief about man, society and the universe in relation to man

Emergence of ideology: • An ideology emerges when people feel strongly that they are being mistreated under an existing order, when their status is threatened by fundamental changes occurring in the society and when the prevailing ideology no longer satisfies them.

Importance of ideology: • Ideology is a motivating force • It provides cement binding base to scattered groups • Ideologies implies their adherents to follow a joint line of action for accomplishment of their goals.

Pakistan ideology: Pakistan ideology is unique in a sense that it was based on an ideology which sought its roots from the religion of Islam. The famous slogan “Pakistan ka matlab kiya, lailaha illallah” become core of freedom movement and basis of Pakistan.

Two nation concept: • Sirsyed Ahmed Khan, the pioneers of two nation theory used word two nation for Hindus and Muslim after being convinced of Hindu and congress hatred and prejudices for Muslim.

Aims and objectives of Pakistan’s establishment: • Seven factors can be said to be the objectives of the establishment of Pakistan. These are discussed here

1-Enforcement of the sovereignty of God Almighty: • The Islamic state is built up on concept of sovereignty of Gods Almighty. The Quiad-i-Azam said “we did not demand Pakistan to acquire a piece of land, but we wanted a homeland where we could introduce Islamic principles”.

2-Establishment of Islamic democracy: • Islam has given an ideal concept of democracy in which everyone is equal and no one enjoys a privileged position on the basis of his social status, color or creed.

3-Revival of Muslim image and identity: The Hindus had adopted a prejudicial attitude which blocked all channels to prosperity and progress for Muslims. The demand for Pakistan was aimed at protecting the Muslim from Hindu domination and also at revival of Muslim identity and image.

4-Protection of Muslim culture and civilization: • The Muslim were always a separate nation because of their distinctive cultural values and patterns. The Muslims therefore decide to separate themselves from the Hindus in order to safeguard their cultural value.

5-Two nation theory: • Two nation theory meant that the Muslim were a separate nation with their distinct culture, civilization, literature, history religion and social values.

6-Emancipation from the prejudicial Hindu majority: • The demand for Pakistan was based on this very feeling that the Muslims should be emancipated from the eternal Hindu domination.

7-Establishment of a balanced economic system: • Quaid-i-azam said ”the bank symbolized the sovereignty of our people in the financial sphere. The western economics system has created many problems for humanity. We should evolve an economic system based on Islamic concept of justice and equality”.

Pakistan ideology and sirsyed: • Sirsyed concluded that Hindus and Muslims were two separate and distinct nations with their distinctive cultural identity. He therefore used word “two nations” for Hindus and Muslims

Pakistan ideology and Allama Iqbal • Allama Iqbal firmly believe in separate identity of Muslims as a nation. he said that there would be no possibility of peace in country unless and until the Muslim are recognized as a separate nation, as they had their own cultural values which they must preserve and maintain.

Pakistan ideology and Allama Iqbal • Iqbal said ”I have been a staunch advocate of putting an end to religion’s prejudices and distinctions from the country. But now I believe that protection of separate national identity is in the best interests of both Hindus and the Muslims”

Pakistan ideology and Quaid-i-azam: • Quaid-i-azam was a staunch believer of two nation theory. He said “the Muslims are a nation by every definition of word nation. They have every right to establish their separate homeland. They can adopt any mean to promote and protect their economics, social, political and cultural interests”
