EcoManager MANAGE YOUR SPILL RISK Environmental Reporting & Risk Management System

We inspect your site & prepare a report that tells you:

• WHAT IS WRONG • THE POTENTIAL RISKS • HOW & WHAT TO FIX • WHAT EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED

“EcoManager” is successful because specific problems on a location are identified and corrective actions detailed. How “EcoManager” works! ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

A detailed hydrocarbon site inspection is performed by one of our trained team Data and photographs are imputed into the EcoManager database A CD containing all the results in different report formats is provided to you The CD allows data to be viewed and problems, actions etc to be printed as reports The data can be incorporated into an existing EMS or ISO14001 system The system can be continually updated as incremental improvements are made This is not just another program that allows you to collect data. It will help you get things done! All sites are summarised in graphic form and are scored as to spill risk

EcoManager highlights areas of concern

EcoManager Environmental Reporting & Risk Management System GENERAL EcoManager is a practical approach to managing the assets and activities of a company or enterprise that can have an impact on the environment. These activities may include: 1. The storage and handling of hydrocarbons 2. The storage and handling of chemicals 3. The storage and handling of waste water 4. Operation of sewerage treatment facilities 5. Operation of land fill facilities 6. Activities that generate air pollution (dust, chemical, odour) 7. Activities that generate noise pollution

EcoManager provides information that can be used to establish and/or keep current an Environmental Management System (EMS) and/or an Environmental Improvement System (EPA VIC). Those wishing to implement ISO 14001 will find the information generated by EcoManager extremely useful and electronically compatible. EcoManager will assist: • In identifying environmental aspects • In setting objectives • In identifying targets • In setting out an action plan to reduce environmental impacts • In identifying equipment required • In developing a budget for rectification • In developing a contingency plan and emergency response procedure • In auditing, by providing the basis for measuring performance in achieving targets

ISO 14001 Use the EcoManager System as the first step in establishing an EMS to ISO 14001 standard. By doing so you will generate the majority of field documents you will require while providing a base and a focal point to start developing procedures and management requirements to meet the ISO 14001 standard. If already 14001 compliant EcoManager will make managing your system easier. Continual improvement is the aim of ISO 14001. This requires monitoring, reporting and management action, EcoManager will assist with these tasks. Monitoring & Measuring History & Improvements EcoManager will list for comparison: • Risk • Incidents • Number of personnel trained • Rectification expenditure • Budget for next report period A numerical scoring system has been developed to generate environmental risk ratings for the different assets and activities which are under review. EcoManager processes risk rating changes as problems are rectified and over time a complete environmental history can be built up. What If ? While all data is stored and processed by the professional staff of Environmental Services Pty Ltd, a CD is provided with each report and information update. You can change risk parameters and see immediately the effect of such changes. As the "what if" risks are theoretically rectified the risk ratings bar charts change before your eyes. You can print out a list of the risks that you have changed including: the risk, comments, action required to rectify the risk and any equipment associated with rectification.

EcoManager Environmental Reporting & Risk Management System Monitoring and measuring is not limited to risk. The system also lists and measures: • Changes from the most recent report to the last report • Environmental aspects • Incidents - actual, historical and predictable • Equipment recommendations of all equipment recommended as required for corrective action • Site personnel • Training recommendations • Personnel who have attended training courses • Contingency planning & emergency response comments The risk rating scoring system works at the lowest level possible, scoring things such as the condition of valves, presence of signs, written procedures, etc. Probability, environmental impact and sensitivity (public reaction) to a spill, leak or discharge are scored to arrive at a risk rating.

In addition to summarised information, EcoManager produces working documents that can be used to set targets and to produce rectification work orders. The working documentation produced contains detailed scoring with comments and photographs. All items with a risk rating are automatically assembled into an action plan priority list with corrective action recommendations.

The working documents section also includes summarised information such as: • Environmental aspects • Environmental impacts • Total location risk score • Risk reduction example • Managing location risk statement The information produced can assist in managing an EMS and providing the data required for ISO 14001 compliance. 1

Objectives and Targets EcoManager provides management with an overall summary (snap shot) of the risk position of the project(s) sites as well as a comprehensive detail plan for reducing risk and the associated cost. This information can be used to set targets and re-assess objectives, if required.

2

Managing Risk Locations with the highest risk are easily identified and can be targeted for rectification work. The actions required to reduce risk are set out in the action plan. By rectifying any item that has a risk rating, the risk associated with that item is eliminated. 3

Monitoring & Measuring Up to 10 years of history of risk rating, incidents, training and expenditure is summarised each time information is updated and a report is generated. As risk items are rectified the risk rating changes. These changes are summarised every time information is updated.

EcoManager Environmental Reporting & Risk Management System 4

Budgeting If required, costs of rectification work and equipment required can be included to produce a budget.

5

Equipment Summary Equipment required to reduce or prevent an environmental impact is listed in the action plan.

6

Training, Awareness & Competence Training recommendations are based on the level of awareness and competence of staff and contractors to prevent or manage environmental aspects. A list of all those staff and contractors who have received training, the training received and the date of training is listed.

7

TANKER ROLLOVER IMPORTANT ELEMENTS

Identify the product Determine the threat

Contingency Planning & Emergency Response Contingency planning comments and emergency response capability and requirements are listed.

8

Incident Reports Summary of all reportable incidents is contained within the information.

9

Standards For easy compliance referencing Australian (AS) and ISO 14001 Standards (sections numbers) are listed against most items under review. Cross referencing of standards for individual countries and other international standards (such as British Standards) is undertaken as requested.

Information and Reporting Format To gather the initial information a site inspection must take place. This is usually performed by one of our experienced staff members. Data and photographs are entered into the EcoManager database from where it is processed to produce a read only CD and hard copy report. The CD allows data to be viewed by you and printed in different report formats as may be required for management or audit purposes. The system can be continually updated as improvements occur. Your valuable time is not required to run and administer this detailed environmental management programme. With the EcoManager system it is all done for you, once the data is generated it is always available and easily updated. You have a very large amount of data at your finger tips without the effort and difficulties usually associated with such a powerful management tool.
