Hunny and the Fly With every beautiful flower that you behold, There lies a terrible sorrow that must unfold. I’m Sorry for being a daisy in a field of roses, I’m sorry for not being able to provide luxuries and limos. I regret the mistakes that I’ve made, I hop and bounce through of field of wasted days. I suppose I am nothing more than your fairytale, The hunny bunny to which your heart could sell. I hunger for that innocent tender loving care, I miss the days of simple eyes that stare. As your bunny, as I once was, I cannot remember your butterfly’s scent and buzz, I cannot calculate the speed of my hop, Cannot anticipate when your wings will stop. All I can assure you now, Is that I’m real and no fairytale. I’ve given you everything I am, Like it or not this is where I am from where I began. But rather than fight, harass and cry, Rather than questioning the contradictions of our lives. Rather than feasting on fields of grass, While watching you take nectar from the beauties of my plants. Whether than questioning the anomalies of the coming storm, Getting ready for the cold and barrowing beneath the snow. Despite all of life’s “what ifs” and “perhaps nots”, I request that you dawn your dress and corsage. I respect the wings that you’ve attained, My little whiskers sense that we are not the same. But even still and possibly perhaps, We can live our lives on the same plain of grass. We rest our wings… And lower our ears… Just, relax….
