Reginald M. Green was preparing for the

ministry at Virginia Union University in Richmond when he became a 1961 “Freedom Rider”. A lifetime member of the NAACP, Reverend Green has remained active in the civil rights community and serves as secretary on the African American Civil War Memorial Freedom Fund Foundation.

Dr. Nyang served as Chairman of African Studies Department at Howard University (1986-1993). He is the author of Islam in the United States of America (Chicago, Illinois: ABC International, Inc., 1999) and A Line in the Sand: Saudi Arabia’s Role in the Gulf War, co-authored with Evan Hendricks (Washington, DC: P.T. Books, 1995).

ABIOLA ABRAMS is a TV personality,

filmmaker and author based in Harlem, with roots in Guyana; who gives fun & funky motivational talks and workshops. For the past two years 28 million viewers throughout the US and Caribbean have tuned in to watch Abiola on BET - interviewing filmmakers on film competition The Best Shorts, as an outspoken, recurring community panelist on My Two Cents, and hosting specials such as syndicated NBC hip hop news show THE SOURCE: All Access. Former Producing Host of HBO’s interstitial politically incorrect talk show CHAT ZONE, her directing work includes Knives in My Throat, a short about a spoken word poet dealing with bipolar disorder and Afrodite Superstar, acclaimed feminist erotica. She is also the creator of The Until the Violence Stops Women’s Film Festival in association with V-Day. Abiola’s writing is featured in the current anthology A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer by Eve Ensler alongside the writings of Maya Angelou, Edward Albee and Alice Walker. Her writing is also featured in upcoming anthologies Behind the Bedroom Door by Paula Derrow (Self Magazine) and Dirty Words: A Literary Encyclopedia of Sex by Ellen Sussman. Abiola has a BA from Sarah Lawrence and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is an opinionated tastemaker, cheerleader, hip hop feminist, fashion and cultural critic and all around blabbermouth.

Kyndall Brown Kyndall Brown is 12 years old and she attends Anne Beers Elementary School in Washington DC. A first place prize winner of the 2005 Washington DC Poetry Fest Slam Championship, Kyndall has performed her poetry on various stages and venues in the DC area. This book parallels her growth emotionally, spiritually and poetically as she began writing when she was eight years old and is now preparing to attend Junior High School. Her poetry moves in and around politics, religion, faith, self pride, love, pain and the realities of living in Washington DC.
