How to tie a TIE Can you tie a tie? Don't think it is easy. If you don't do it right, it can really tie you up in knots! Here are some knots for you to learn and add to your knowledge. In case you are just starting out, master one knot first before you attempt the others.

THE WINDSOR KNOT 1.

Extend the wide end "W" to about 12 inches below the narrow end "N". Cross the wide end over the narrow end.
Bring the wide end up through the loop between the collar and your tie; then back down.

Bring the wide end down through the knot in front.

Bring the wide end around and behind the narrow end.

Using both hands, tighten the knot carefully and draw it up to the collar.

THE HALF WINDSOR KNOT 5.
Pull the wide end up through the loop again.

Remove your finger and tighten the knot carefully to the collar by holding the narrow end and sliding the knot up.

Take the wide end over to the right.

Pull the wide end up, behind the loop.

Bring the wide end through the knot and tighten gently.
Continue by bringing the wide end back over in front of the narrow end again.
THE PRATT KNOT Using both hands, tighten the knot carefully and draw it up to the collar.

Start with the tie inside out, the wide end "W" under the narrow end "N".
Pull the wide end up and through the loop around your neck.
THE FOUR_IN_HAND KNOT 1.
Pull the loop down and tighten.
Bring the wide end down through the knot in front.

Hold the front of the knot loosely with your index finger and bring the wide end down through the front knot.
Take the wide end over and under the narrow end.
