HOMEOPATHY CASE TAKING – Lec Jan 8/08 Dr. Mirsada Vins In addition to the slides from class: Aphorisms 204, 211, 212; mental state is so impt for determining the remedy. More indicative of the vital disturbance but DON’T interpret. False perception of reality is the misintunement of the vital force. The disease manifests in sx’s the create a false perception of reality. The disease forces you to adopt your behaviour to the false perception. What is the px’s experience of this false perception? ‘put the monster in front of you so you can understand that its not a monster’. Homeopathy doesn’t allow you to cope w/ disease sx’s, it puts them right in front of your face. Look for the strange and peculiar thing that goes thru the whole entire case. The individualizing sensation and perception of the case. Take the case deeper and deeper to nonsensical places and then you can start to understand the disturbance. When a px says something about a sensation you can also ask them about the opposite sensation – esp if the case is stuck in one place. Ie. Px is afraid of talking about the constriction that they are feeling- get them to talk about the opposite. Fear of exams = gelsemium ‘I love my wife syndrome’ – positively affirmed or in denial. Out of proportion, spontaneously volunteered that’s at an inappropriate time – they have an issue with this, so go into it deeply, go with it. Listen for something strange and peculiar in their conversation that you wouldn’t say in a sentence. Px’s can take the case so deep that they will speak the remedy. But be careful not to jump to conclusions. Do not use repertory mechanically, cuz you’ll just end up w/ polycrests. -local, particular (esp physical) sx’s are useless. Individualizing global sx’s are most impt and they will take you to the right place in the case. Constitutional remedy can be given to the px if they have an acute problem during their healing with the constitutional remedy. It will do better than giving the px an acute remedy that is individual to the whole case (ie. Just for that specific problem). The acute parts of a case can cloud the constitutional case if a person has a weak vital force & can’t recover easily. Any experience can be resolved w/ a healthy vital force at a

quick pace. ( ie. Cold recovered quickly). Unhealthy vital force becomes rigid & less responsive to remedies. Ie. They don’t recover well from experiences. If the person is not healthy enough & can’t handle the prescription don’t prescribe acutely. The vital force is expressing itself according to its vitality. Aph 82 & 83 always take the presenting sx’s Stay away from the logical things in the case cuz its superficial and doesn’t add to the case. If these facts are needed, get them at the end of the case, but it will be obvious that you need these. Get the px to describe what their experience of the feeling they said in the case. Ie. What is anger. Get them to define then ask what their experience of it is after you clearly understand their definition of the word. When they’re in the delusion state, look at the gesture they go back to, or that slips out. See if there is energy attached to it. Minerals usu don’t have gestures, animals have many. Zone in on the emotion the word ‘anger’ and stay away from their reaction. Don’t go on a wild goose chase! CASE – stay silent. Open ended questions only. Do nothing. Be ‘lazy and stupid’, get the px to bring it all to you. Ask the px which of all the complaints affects them the most. When they say something individual, go w/ it and ask Q’s about that. Be comfortable w/ silence. Look at time lines. When sx’s started, what was going on? Get the definition w/ what they feel, then once you understand fully, you can go into how they feel and what their experience is of that. Correlate the feeling back then ask for the opposite. If you don’t know what to do in a case, feed back the px’s own words to them. ‘you view the entire world through you false perception’ if you’re having an issue w/ something, it only tells you how you’re reacting to yourself. Be careful of ‘why’ questions. You really need to know what your asking for b/c px’s will often hear that you want them to theorize… but you don’t want this at all. Volunteered spontaneous information = issue for the person Nosode represents the miasmatic feeling. You’ll get a shift in the miasm, but will still exhibit the same base feeling in a case with a remedy already prescribed. *look for the global in the local* want the state to change, physical sx’s are sometimes the last part to go.
