Paul and Clara Jobs of Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California then adopted him.
Steve Jobs had a deep-seated interest in technology so he took up a job at Atari Inc. which was a leading manufacturer of video games.
Jobs moved back to California before embarking on a spiritual journey to India.
Not long after returning to California, Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computers.
Apple, Inc. went public in 1980 with the success of the Apple II personal computer.
Steve Jobs was appointed Disney's board of director in 2006 after the company purchased Pixar Animation Studios.

1979 to 1984: Development - The Macintosh project started in the late 1970s with Jef Raskin 1984: Introduction - The first Macintosh was introduced on January 24, 1984 1985 to 1989: Desktop publishing era - In 1985, the combination of the Mac, Apple’s LaserWriter printer, and Mac-specific software like Boston Software’s MacPublisher and Aldus PageMaker enabled users to design, preview, and print page layouts complete with text and graphics
1998 to 2005: New beginnings - In 1998, Apple introduced an all-in-one Macintosh called the iMac. 2006 Intel era - On April 5, 2006 Apple announced the public beta availability of their own Boot Camp software which will allow owners of Intel-based Macs to install Windows XP on their machines; later versions added support for Windows Vista. 2008 onwards - In recent years, Apple has seen a significant boost in sales of Macs due to the success of the iPod, a halo effect whereby satisfied iPod owners purchase more Apple equipment.
