EXPERIENCE Environmental 3: • Data management section of the Division of Water Supply. • Responsible for tracking the State of Tennessee public Water Systems (1161) for all compliance monitoring chemical data. • Tracking data electronically and manually. • Making sure that each public water system adheres to the State and/or Federal regulations. • Making sure each public water system is meeting their compliance-monitoring deadline. • Keeping public water systems abreast of what contaminants they must monitor and when. • Citing violations as they occur, initiating enforcement actions if necessary. • Producing documents, manuals and other written materials to aid the public water systems with their monitoring task. • Performed data handling and manipulation for compliance purposes and studies. • Collected data daily for the annual report submitted to the USGS on the ground water usage in the State of Tennessee. • Performed QC data checks, methodology and instrumentations on each laboratory that were certified by the State of TN. • Studied, researched and wrote three chemical waiver/grandfather manuals for the public water systems in Tennessee. • The EPA adopted the three manuals and submitted copies of the manuals to each State Water Supply Division. • Headed Microsoft Access help group in the Dept State wide. Analytical Chemistry: • 23+ years in inorganic and organic hazardous waste. • Responsible for maintaining EPA laboratory certification for drinking water and AIHA filters for metals. • Coordinated work assignments for four other personnel in applying wet chemical analysis and spectroscopy. • Revamp GC program for gas analysis and organics. • Mixed and standardized mixed gases. • Monitor sanitary landfill wells for hazardous waste and performed analysis. Performed well treatment procedures. • Analyzed for known and unknown substances in different matrices using instrumental analysis and wet chemistry. (TCLP). • Analytical Research: Polymers, resins, plastics, films, adhesive, coatings, pesticide, herbicides, fiberglass, liquids, liquid fuels, oxidants and solid propellants. • Analyzed low radiation hazardous waste. • All analytical Data was verified by Quality Control. Environmental Science: • Site investigations and assessments. • Identifying problems. • Hazardous waste sampling. • Collected, analyzed and compiled analyzed data. • Compared data to CFR 40, EPA, State and Federal Regulations for compliance. • Kept abreast and applied EPA’s and other federal agencies’ laws, rules and regulation. • Site clean up. (Oil Spills, organics, acids, alkalizes, dyes…. etc.) • Validated clean up for compliance according to regulations. • Wrote preliminary and final reports. • Treated or disposed of hazardous samples and industrial wastewater. • Prepared industrial hygiene sampling devices, collected and analyzed the samples, and made recommendation based on Threshold levels. Prepared, collected and analyzed air samples. Management Activities: • Prepared and delivered report briefing. • Developed, organized and coordinated environmental, quality control, lubricant, coatings, films, etchings, and air programs. • Headed special research projects. • Identified requirements and made recommendations to management and other contractors. • Assisted area institutions and industries with analytical and procedure problems. • Changed and updated analytical procedures • Trained and coordinated the work assignments of other employees. • Developed budgets and planning. • Purchased materials and equipment.
