Clinical teams from The Medical City are pioneering regenerative medical treatment for patients with heart disease. The Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering will team up with TMC to support this effort

Of Interest to the Team: • Mechanical Heart Models • The team expects to analyze patient data such as ECG traces and echocardiograms • Segmentation algorithms and analysis of heart sonograms • Haptic displays



• Signal processing and analysis of ECG traces using public databases such as MIT’s (http://ecg.mit.edu/) will be studied • Standard signal processing tools and software will be used to come up with diagnostic and patient monitoring aids for the clinician teams • This will serve as input to heart models as well as to contribute to the general literature of automated diagnosis and screening of cardiovascular diseases


