And a large crowd from the city was with her. WHEN THE LORD SAW HER, HE HAD COMPASSION ON HER AND SAID TO HER, "DO NOT WEEP." Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.” “HE HAD COMPASSION ON HER”. Who was this woman? Was her one of His relatives or friends? Did He know her from the past? The Lord didn’t care much about such questions though. He didn’t say “you know, according to my books this man may in the future do something evil” or “when you were younger you made this and that.” What the Word says is that “HE HAD COMPASSION ON HER”. It is not here the place where every tear will be dried. It is not here the place of no pain. However, even here the mercy and the comfort of the Lord is great. II Corinthians 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.” The Lord has compassion and comfort. If they have told you that because you are a Christian nothing that will make you to weep will ever happen to you, or that you will never be afflicted …… if they have told you that your life will have only happy times, then they haven’t told you the whole truth. Here is what the Word of God says in Ecclesiastes 3: 2

had compassion on the widow. He is the same Lord that “was moved with compassion for the multitudes and healed their seek (Matthew 14:14). He didn’t heal only the “good” ones. As I read somewhere, He healed hands that could probably do evil. He gave voice to mouths that after few days could probably ask for His crucifixion. He healed them all because “He was moved with compassion for them”. And He has compassion on YOU too.
