Kallang Park Connector from Bishan to City, Singapore The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) plans to study whether the 10km-long Kallang Park Connector, which starts in Bishan and runs along the Kallang River, can become a seamless commuting route for cyclists. If implemented, it could take a cyclist about 30 to 45 minutes to ride from Bishan to the heart of the city. The planning study for the proposed pedestrian and cycling crossing along the Kallang Park Connector from Bishan to City includes seven crossings at Braddell Road, Central Expressway (CTE), Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), Serangoon Road & Bendemeer Road, Kallang Bahru, Upper Boon Keng Road, Sims Avenue and Geylang Road. The crossing across PIE is above grade and consists of a cable-stayed steel bridge of approx. 160 m long with max span of approx. 60m. The bridge, which is of 4.5m clear width, meets the tracks beyond PIE at ground level on each side via a steel circular ramp above Kallang River.
