Dear Potential Contributor, First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this letter, it is greatly appreciated. Secondly, I would like to give you a brief description of myself and purpose of my letter. My name is Jazzmin Adibi and I am currently studying Development Studies and English Literature at the University of California Berkeley. My passion in life is to pursue a career in either international and/or immigration law. In order to gain a personal experience of controversial issues in developing countries, I have become very active in multiple organizations on campus, one being the Global Water Brigades. Last winter, this organization provided me with the amazing opportunity to experience the politics, and basic engineering of a water purification system in Los Pajarillos, Honduras. I immediately fell in love with the Honduran culture and people, and have a strong passion to return and help in ANY way I can. Global Water Brigades is an international non-profit organization, which seeks college students to aide in water purification projects in Central America, specifically Honduras. We travel to Honduras for two weeks during the summer and winter. Every trip entails a different water project, ranging from the restoration of a water tank infrastructure to a community water education seminar. Our help in these rural towns is much needed for almost 90% of all Hondurans suffer from water induced parasitic illnesses. Potentially, in five years Global Water Brigades will have conducted over fifty “water projects”, indicating that our target area in Honduras for water purification has concluded. Although these aspirations are ambitious they are already being implemented and executed. However, I am in need of your help, for the excursion to Honduras entails a $1400.00 travel fee. This cost includes my plane ticket, in-country costs (including housing and food), and a $100 contribution to the purchasing of materials for the water project. Financially speaking, this trip is quite unattainable, but with ANY contribution I will be that much closer in my pursuit for social change and justice. I would like to thank you again for your time and consideration, and I pray that you have a prosperous day.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me via email at [email protected]. Sincerely, Jazzmin Adibi
