Guidelines For Project Report (1) Abstract: - The abstract shall give the important features of the material contained chapters. Separate paragraph should be made for each chapter. Abstract should not exceed 500 words. (2) Contents: - It shall indicate title of chapter, section, sub-section etc. using decimal notations with corresponding page numbers against them. (3) List of tables: - It shall indicate table no., Table title & corresponding page no. table no. should be in decimal no.(ex-2.8 refers to table 8 in chapter 2) (4) List of figures :- It shall indicate figure no. fig. Table & corresponding page no. The figure no. should be in decimal notation indicating the chapter no. & figure no. in that chapter (4.6 - fig.6 in chapter 4) (5) Page numbering: - For items (1) to (4) the page numbers shall be in small Roman at the bottom of the page centrally located. Page numbers in Arabic numerals shall start with ' I ' on first page of the ‘Introduction chapter’. The page numbers should on the top centrally located. All pages including these with tables & figures must have page numbers. (6) Chapter Numbering: - The chapters shall be numbered in Arabic numerals. Sections & sub-sections of any chapter shall be decimal notation. All chapters shall begin on new page. Titles of the chapters, sections, sub-sections shall be in bold letters for sub-sections first letter should be properly centered at the top of the page & have three spaces between them. Item Font Size Case Chapter & chapter title 16 bold Upper case Section & section title 14 bold Upper case Sub-section & sub-section title 12 bold Upper case Title of figures & tables 12 bold Title case (7) Introduction: - The introduction shall form CHAPTER 1 of any thesis. It shall highlight the importance of the investigation & also define the topic & scope of the work carried out. (8) Review of literature: - This shall form the CHAPTER 2 of any thesis presenting review of previous work done on the topic. The extent of this chapter shall depend on the nature of investigation. (9) Methodology: - It should begin with brief restatement of problem and proposed solution. Then it should describe in considerable detail, every step that will be taken in per suit of proposed solution. If there is to be an experimental treatment, all preparatory works such as creation of curricular and other materials needs to be thoroughly addressed. There should be short discussion of expectations. What do you expect will happen as a result of your work? What changes to professional practice will your work recommend? Who will be the lucky recipients of the improved practice? What follow up work can you see evolving? The work carried out shall be presented in one or more sub-chapters depending on the nature of the investigation each chapter shall have suitable title. Each chapter must have several sections & subsections with sub-titles.

Figure no: - Title of figure (10) Discussion & Conclusions: - This shall form the last chapter of any thesis. It shall include the thorough evaluation of the investigation carried out. The discussion shall logically lead to certain conclusion and inferences. (11) Literature cited: - This should follow the last chapter. It shall give the list of works (papers, books etc.) referred to in the body of text & shall be arranged in the order they are first cited in the text. The numbering shall be in Arabic numerals indicated in [ ] brackets. For paper information shall contain names of the authors, title of the paper, name of the journal, the volume no., page no. & year of publication in parenthesis. For book, information shall contain names of the author, the title of the book, the name of publisher, the edition & year of publication in parenthesis. (12) Appendices: - It should follow 'literature cited' & should be numbered in roman capitals. The appendices shall normally contain detailed or lengthy derivations, sample calculation, voluminous tables, large figures, programs etc. (13) Acknowledgement: - It shall follow 'Appendices'. It shall indicate the extent to which assistance has been received from the various sources by the candidate in his/her work. (14) Other instructions: (a) Page & page set-up: - Use A4 size Bond paper Top margin: 1.25" Bottom margin: 1.00" Left margin: 1.5" Right margin : 1.00" (b) Text matter: Written matter font size: - 12 Font: - Arial or Times New Roman Line spacing: - 1.5 Text: - Justified Paragraph spacing: - 2.0 Paragraph indentation: - Single/Double Tab (c) Photograph should be mounted on thick sheet titled & inserted at appropriate place or in the Appendix. (d) Use of italic & short forms should be avoided. If short form is to be used, first a long form & then in bracket its short form should be given. Written matter should be in third person (use of 1, We, you etc. should be avoided) in present tense as far as possible.
