Map of Gangwon-Do Yongpyong Resort is located in Gangwon-do, which lies in the mid-eastern part of the Korean peninsula flanked by the sea and mountains. Gangwon-do is full of natural attractions. Visitors can enjoy a fantastic view of Mt. Seoraksan and Mt. Chiaksan as the scenery alters by season.

About 82% of the land is mountainous. The eastern region runs along the coast, the western region lies face-to-face with Seoul, and the southern part is connected to another inland region. The Demilitarized Zone divides northern Gangwon-do, and Gangwon-do is the departure point to the Geumgangsan Diamond Mountains and Mt. Baekdusan in North Korea.
