Gse Day-14

Day 14 (Mon 08 May) Today we travel from Lyon on to Bresse, to the north and a little east of Lyon. Home of Poulet au Bresse (a protected name just like champagne) and the champagne of chicken. It occurs to me some perspective might help. Below is a map of the RhoneAlps region with our plan of visitation encoded. Colors are places we stay. For the keen of eye, you can also discern the numerical sequence of our trek , nicely provided to us by our French hosts.

My new host family is Joe and Dalila, who are briefly unavailable, so his son Philippe collects me. We head for the hills for a hike along meadows, through the woods and over snow. We are caught in the rain so pop into the auberge conveniently located on the farm for a cup of tea before heading back to Bourg en Bresse, home for 5 days.
