Summary

•The topic we have been given deals with the impact of quality control on business and business quality practices in Canadian and Indian systems. •The company we chose to focus on was Connect, the no. 1 telecommunications company in Punjab, and Emaar MGF, a leading real estate developer. •The Report has been based on both primary and secondary data.

Introduction CONNECT •The company was incorporated on October 1, 2000. •The company’s market holding is very substantial and six out of ten people in Punjab prefer to use Connect broadband services. •The company perceives quality control as the most important factor for a company’s success. •The customer care service has been the very basis of the success of the company. Being no. 1 in Punjab just proves it.

EMAAR MGF •Emaar MGF Land Limited is a joint venture between Emaar Properties PJSC of Dubai and MGF Development Limited of India. •The Company commenced operations in India in February 2005 •The company has operations spanning all key segments of the Indian real estate industry, namely the residential, commercial, retail and hospitality sectors.

Methodology •The methodology used for the project is collection and analyzing of primary and secondary data. •Primary data includes questionnaire and interviews. The questionnaire consists of hybrid questions •The aim of objective questionnaires and interviews was to know about the focus on quality in an Indian company and the difference between the focus in Indian and Canadian companies.

Findings

•More than 50% of the employees interviewed believe that the quality of the Canadian businesses is better than the Indian business system.

•‘Quality control’ is believed to be a very important aspect to make a company successful and around 72% people think that it is very important and 20% think that it is important.

•Indian business system was rated 7 on a scale of ten by 38% , 28% rated it 6 and 14% rated it 8 and 9 respectively

•Canadian business system was rated 6 by 44% people and rated 9 by 22% people interviewed.

•More than 50% people rated their company 7 on a scale of ten. This shows that there is a lot of scope for improvement in the Indian business scene.

Conclusion

•The research helped us understand importance of ‘Quality control’ in any business organization. •The bottom line is that good quality is essential for any business organization’s success

Recommendation s • Indian companies need to improve their quality by imposing strict policies on the standards of work in an organization. •This can be done by using the Total Quality Management Techniques
