Association of South-East Asian Nations Geo-political and economic organization of 10 countries located in Southeast Asia Formed on 8 August 1967 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand Membership has expanded to include Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam



Statistics – Indonesia has 42% of the total land area, 39.1% of total population among ASEAN nations – Singapore has the highest per capita income at US $ 50,347 followed closely by Brunei Darussalam at US $ 50, 234 – Singapore leads the pack with nearly 27% of the ASEAN region exports followed by Malaysia at 22.12%
