The programme is organized by Australian Habitat Studies (Aus-HS) in collaboration with its regional counterpart Aus-HS India.

The Focus Australian and New Zealand governments have introduced sweeping reforms in many areas of government operations in order to improve efficiency, effectiveness and transparency. Among these reforms are introduction of

performance management, reforming financial and accounting systems and transforming government enterprises. The main objective of this programme is to examine these reforms, discuss their strengths and weaknesses and evaluate their applicability to the countries in the developing world.

Case Study I: Australia

Visa

The Venue

The shape and structure of Australian governments have changed substantially during the last two decades. There has been a reduction in government ownership and an introduction of performance management to the public sector. The process of these changes will be studied and outcomes examined.

Once the requirements for registration have been completed and the payment has been made, a letter to support the application for visa will be issued by Aus-HS, Australia. Participants will then apply for visas to the Australian and the New Zealand High Commissions. If a participant is required to return home through any Australian airports, (even only on transit) s/he must obtain a double/multiple entry visa for Australia.

The Course will be conducted at comfortable hotels in Sydney and Auckland. Details and how to get to the venue from the Airport will be provided to participants after completion of registration.

Hon'ble David Caygill, a former New Zealand Cabinet Minister held various ministaerial portfolios including: Trade & Industry, Health, and Finance. He was one of the key Ministers responsible for implementing public sector reform during 1984-1990.

Mr. Vic Summersby, a former senior academic staff of the University of New South Wales, is the training coordinator of Aus-HS. Mr. Summersby has long experience in management and coordination of international training programmes.

Mr. Alan E. Wilcox, has held executive management positions in local and regional government, and planning positions in the New Zealand Ministry of Works and various City councils. Mr. Wilcox is well acquainted with New Zealand Public Sector Reforms.

Prof. David Emanuel, is a Professor at the University of Auckland Business School. His interests are in financial accounting, reforming government trading enterprises. He has co-authored a number of books in these fields.

The programme is organized by Australian Habitat Studies (Aus-HS) in collaboration with its regional counterpart Aus-HS India.

The Focus Australian and New Zealand governments have introduced sweeping reforms in many areas of government operations in order to improve efficiency, effectiveness and transparency. Among these reforms are introduction of

performance management, reforming financial and accounting systems and transforming government enterprises. The main objective of this programme is to examine these reforms, discuss their strengths and weaknesses and evaluate their applicability to the countries in the developing world.

Case Study I: Australia

The Venue

The shape and structure of Australian governments have changed substantially during the last two decades. There has been a reduction in government ownership and an introduction of performance management to the public sector. The process of these changes will be studied and outcomes examined.

Once the requirements for registration have been completed and the payment has been made, a letter to support the application for visa will be issued by Aus-HS, Australia. Participants will then apply for visas to the Australian and the New Zealand High Commissions. If a participant is required to return home through any Australian airports, (even only on transit) s/he must obtain a double/multiple entry visa for Australia.

The Course will be conducted at comfortable hotels in Sydney and Auckland. Details and how to get to the venue from the Airport will be provided to participants after completion of registration.
