Great War Peace Medal issued by the city of Glasgow, Scotland to commemorate the Peace in 1919. Silver, measuring approx 4 cm's from top to base, in the form of a Celtic cross adorned with thistles and crown devices, and a central image of Peace, with the surrounding inscription: 'DECLARATION OF PEACE 1919' , the reverse with the coat of arms of the city, and the inscription in relief: 'CORPORATION OF GLASGOW CELEBRATION'. This medal was issued in three forms, bronze, bronze-gilt, and silver. The silver version is the rarest. Hallmarked: JM / anchor / t size
