GENERATIVE LEARNING
-Is
the process of constructing links between new and old knowledge, or a personal understanding how new ideas fit into an individuals web of known concepts.
The
mental activity of generative learning appears to be a function of memory.
Generative learning strategies can be broken into four elements:
1.recall-Involves
the learner pulling information from long term memory. 2.Integration-involves the learner to integrating new knowledge with prior knowledge.
3.Organization-involves the learner relating prior knowledge to new ideas and concepts in meaningful ways. 4.Elaboration-involves the connection of new material to information or ideas already in the learner’s mind.
