Images: • All color and gray scale images should be saved as 300 DPI (higher if the image is enlarged (scaled) when placed in the document, i.e. image at 200% – needs to be at 600 DPI). • 600 DPI is minimum for bit map images. • All color images should be saved as CMYK. • All file formats should be TIFF or EPS files. DO NOT send JPEG, PICT or RGB files, they will have to be converted at an additional charge. • Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) images are low resolution, and are not acceptable for printing. • Images to be scanned by KR Line will be assessed a charge of $20.00(G) per image. Imported Graphics: These are graphics that have been produced in, or scanned into, one program and then transferred into another graphics or page layout program. Also called Embedded Graphics and Linked Graphics. Include all fonts used in your page layout and any imported graphics. It is suggested that a copy of the graphic in native format also be included along with the electronic layout. Colors: • Be sure to remove all non-used colors from support files and layout applications. • Change all Pantone® colors to four color process unless you specifically want the imprint to be a control or spot color. Fonts: • Please include all fonts. Missing fonts will delay job. • We recommend using only Postscript®, Open Type or TrueType® fonts.

• DO NOT stylize fonts using menu styles (this does not result in a “real” font). I.E. use Futura Italic Bold font instead of Futura + Bold + Italic. • Avoid using system fonts. • Make sure that you are supplying all fonts used in your document and linked/embedded files. • Be sure to always include both the screen and printer fonts. PDFs: • We can accept PDFs distilled through Adobe Acrobat if the original file is from one of our supported software formats. Before submitting a PDF, please ask our Customer Service Representatives for our PDF production guidelines. • If you wish to create a PDF for submission from a software other than the supported ones, please discuss in advance with your KR Line representative as there may be special challenges we can help you deal with to insure the best output of your project. If you have questions regarding sending artwork or copy on disc, please contact our Customer Service Department for specifications. Web FTP File Transfer: Artwork in any of our supported software formats can be downloaded directly to KR Line using our Web FTP File Transfer page. Simply use any internet browser and enter into the URL address field, http://webftp.krline.com. Enter guest as the Username and Password to login and begin transfering files. Please be sure to compress, .zip or .sit, all files before uploading for quicker results. Please contact our customer service departments if you need further assistance or questions with the use of this service. E-mailing Art: Art and text files can also be accepted via e-mail. Please reference your purchase order number and/or client name in the subject line of the e-mail. Our e-mail address is [email protected]. Text only files can be sent via e-mail as attachments in a Microsoft Word® Document (.doc). Copy that is to be typeset by KR Line can be simply typed in the body of the e-mail with appropriate comments indicating style, color, size, etc. Templates: Find downloadable templates for many of our items at www.krline.com/templates.
